What is ACT?

The ACT is a standardized test that students seeking admission to undergraduate programs in the USA and Canada must take. This is one of the aspects of measuring the eligibility for admission into a college or university. The ACT exam was created to assess candidates’ written, mathematical, verbal, and scientific abilities. It contains five sections: English, Math, Reading, Science, and the optional Writing (essay).

Who can take the ACT?

Everyone is eligible to take the ACT irrespective of age and academic grade levels; students in grades 6, 7, 8, and 9 can also apply for the ACT exam. Generally, it is taken by high school graduates, those above the age of 13 years.

Where can ACT be taken?

All four-year universities in the US, and more than 200 universities outside of the US, accept and value the ACT. In Myanmar, Crown Education is the only available test center for the ACT exam.

When can students take the ACT exam?

The ACT is offered seven times a year in the United States and its territories, Puerto Rico, and Canada: in September, October, December, February, April, June, and July. In other locations, the ACT is offered five times a year: in September, October, December, April, and June.

ACT Format

The ACT is composed of four multiple-choice sections: English, Math, Reading, and Science-and one optional essay section-Writing. ACT Fee

Fees for test registration is With Writing – USD 166.50 and Without Writing USD 150.

Scoring in ACT

Each section of the ACT (English, Math, Reading, and Science) is scored on a 1 to 36 point scale. The composite score is the average of all four tests. Students taking the optional writing test will receive a writing score in that section ranging from 1 to 36. The writing score does not affect the composite score.

The average ACT scores by sections are - English (20.3), Maths (20.9), Reading (21.3), Science (20.8), and Composite (21.0).

The ACT total scores are valid for five years after the testing year in which you tested. Date - 8/20/2022
