The GED program is an excellent alternative to a traditional high school diploma. Nearly all colleges in the U.S and many universities outside of the U.S, accept applicants who have earned a GED diploma. It is also widely accepted by employers as an alternative to a high school diploma. Preparing time may vary from approximately 4 to 6 months depending on the students’ particular background knowledge.

One subject has a full score of 200 and the total score for 4 subjects is 800. However, to pass the GED exam, you need to get an average score of 145 or 150 in one subject. Some universities and colleges require a minimum GED score for admission.
